Wash Care
Wash Care Guide
With the right care and attention, linen—a natural fiber—can outlast most things, including relationships!Follow Thread Connect’s simple Wash Care Guide to ensure your linens stay beautiful for years to come:
- Rule 1: Pre-Wash Your Linens
Pre-washing is essential for enhancing linen’s natural beauty, settling its threads, and ensuring durability. At Thread Connect, we send your linens pre-washed to eliminate this step for you.
Note: Avoid fabric softeners—they weaken natural fibers. Much like your heart, linen softens naturally over time.
- Rule 2: Separate for Subsequent Washes
Wash dark linens separately from light ones.
Pre-treat stains before washing.
Avoid bleach.
Use a gentle warm water cycle, finishing with a cold water rinse.
- Rule 3: Dry With Care
Drying on a clothesline is ideal for natural fibers like linen.
If using a machine dryer, gently shake and smooth out damp linens before placing them on the lowest heat setting.
- Rule 4: Skip the Ironing (If You Can)
At Thread Connect, we recommend using your linens as is for a relaxed look. If you prefer a crisper appearance:
Remove linens from the dryer while still damp.
Iron with care on a low setting, spraying water on stubborn wrinkles if needed.
- Rule 5: Avoid Plastic Storage
Linen needs to breathe. Skip plastic bags or boxes and store your linens in a dry, cool, ventilated area. For long-term storage, wrap them in muslin cloth.
Above All, Be Kind
Linen is a lifelong companion. Treat it well, and it will stay with you for years to come.
